Carbonneau FIRED!

Guy Carbonneau was fired by Bob Gainey.

Carbonneau who was 124-83-23 since his start with the Canadiens, had trouble communicating with his veteran players, and was also critisized for his lack of establishing a game plan.

Gainey will be heading behind the bench as of Tuesdays game against the Oilers. As of now all the associate coaches (Doug Jarvis, Kirk Muller and Roland Melanson) will stay on board, but it is believed that Muller will be the odd man out, seeing as the Hamilton Bulldogs head coach Don Lever will be brought up to assist Gainey.

Lever who won the Calder Cup with the Hamilton Bulldogs in 2007 has been in the coaching business since 1987 as an assistant coach for the Buffalo Sabres. He has been with the Bulldogs since 2005.
